The company is a family-run business and was established in 1949 by the industrious Bagaria family hailing from Assam, India. TIGL has two full fledged manufacturing facilities in India - at Kolkata the capital city of West Bengal, and at Coimbatore, the industrial city of Tamil Nadu. Sales and service are facilitated through domestic offices in Coimbatore, Kolkata, Coonor ( Nilgiris), Siliguri (North Bengal) and Tinsukia (Assam), and overseas offices in Colombo, Sri Lanka, Nairobi, Kenya, and Hanoi, Vietnam. A technical team of over 50 experienced engineers is deployed through these offices to ensure prompt deliveries and commissioning. In addition to these facilities, the company’s R & D unit and Pilot Laboratory at Coimbatore are consistently involved in product development and innovation.

TIGL regularly participates in major tea trade fairs in India and abroad, such as UPASI in Tamil Nadu, South India and EATA, Africa, as well as other tea events in Sri Lanka & the far east. The company also supports plantation Sports Meets in India & Africa.

With these machines consistent wither percentage can be achieved irrespective of varying ambient conditions. TIGL believes in Corporate Social Responsibility. Towards this end, it has set up housing colonies for its workers, Thrift Societies, and Productivity Linked Bonus Schemes for staff & workers, which facilitate low cost loans and educational subsidies. The TIGL group generously funds the activities of the Bagaria Foundation, a charitable trust engaged in a variety of social causes. Every year a portion of the group's profits are donated to the Bagaria Foundation and used for calamity relief, educational & medical grants and donations to deserving individuals and organisations as well as funds for student scholarship.
